Evaluation of drug information services in self-medication services with the patient simulation method at community pharmacies

Background: Globally the number of medicinal products that can be obtained through pharmacies without a prescription continues to increase. Community pharmacists are health professionals most accessible patients seeking advice on use drugs in self-medication practice. Patient counselling is one important services provide patients. Studies have shown provided by prevent drug-related problems and improve adherence drug therapy. Objective: To explore practice information at community assess quality according applicable procedures. Methods: The patient simulation method was carried out 51 City Lamongan, involving scenarios related purchasing prescription, with 90 visits total. Assessment forms were filled immediately after simulated assessment based completeness providing information, comprised names, doses, quantities, indications, times use, interactions, storage methods. Results: For suitability services, 90.0% mentioned 65.5% explained 64.5% stated amount drugs, 65.6% 70.0% 22.2% 25.5% storage. Conclusion: for very help avoid dangers irrational practices.
